Tonight was the first group event for the Lancaster Craftivists, at the local Gregson Arts Centre. I recently set up the group to help bring attention to the Craftivist Movement in this area, whilst hopefully meeting other like-minded people within the community.

I was unsure how the first event would go and if anyone would turn up!

One lovely lady came over to ask about what I was doing – perhaps the table turned into a haberdashery was a clue…luckily she was intrigued enough to join me, and began creating a beautiful message to herself, to simply Chill Out.

I was originally inspired by Sarah Corbett’s work as part of the Craftivist Collective. I love the basic principles of craftivism as a concept, and hope to find meaningful ways to make small positive change.
