Soundbites & Textures: Walk With Me…

Since working with a variety of materials, including the concrete and raw wool, I have been really keen to explore other senses and how these not only relate to my current art practice, but could perhaps better articulate the sense of community I am attempting to articulate within my work. Exploring Raw Materials Pt.2

I noticed the colour of the mortar mix begin to lighten as the moisture evaporated. When the colour of the top section appeared more uniformal, I decided to unwrap the lego mould from the concrete. I was pretty nervous, but simultaneously excited to see the results. Would it be dry properly? Would it collapse or break whilst removing the mould?

Exploring Raw Materials

Since being drawn to the demolition site in Warrington, I have been keen to explore the parallels with our fragmented society. To begin with, I decided to recreate a section of the building in the original image.
